Bouchard's Champagnes remain some of my very favorite wines on the planet
Just a little stringy/briary on the nose rather than sweetly fruity
precise and intensely mineral-driven middle weight flavors
A pungent nose of soft reduction and wood toast largely pushes what appears to be ripe fruit to the background
the 1999 is somewhat one-dimensional and not likely to improve considerably from here
