Royal Tokaji, Nyulaszo 6 Puttonyos Brut ZeroThe 2008 Tokaji Aszu Nyulaszo 6 Puttonyos has a deep burnished amber color. The nose is very complex, initially offering melted candle wax and apricot on the nose. (The latter actually reminded me of Jaffa Cakes!) Leaving it aside for one hour, it blossoms in the glass, revealing Satsuma and mango aromas. The palate is rounded and citric on the entry. Taut and balanced

Pungent aromas of discreet wood and reduction precede the bigger and richer medium weight flavors that also possess good vibrancy while delivering solid depth and persistence on the saline and nicely dry finale

A deep jeweled ruby color

It eventually became far more expressive

(sold under the Thierry Pillot label)

yet expressively ripe

This is quite an elegant wine with lovely harmony and strikingly good balance

This is a completely different expression than the Vaudésir with slightly exotic fruit notes and rounder

On par with the gorgeous 2019

2013 is a relatively powerful vintage for this normally restrained and cool wine and I particularly like the underlying tension as it invites another sip

sensual and powerful to the core

it seems a bit light but the focus and intensity are such that I believe this will prove to be much more impressive than present appearances suggest
