There is less color in this 2011 (I popped a bottle of the 2010 for comparison) and more notes reminiscent of Cabernet Franc (Alejandro Vigil harvested even earlier in 2010)

this wine appeals to those who appreciate more dark blackberry power and fruit weight in their Barolo

mint and spices

(from young vines planted in 2002

this is very much built for the long-term and is going to need at least a decade of patience and should amply repay 20 or perhaps even more

charred earth

which should be the current release now)
