This part of BS 7121 gives best practice recommendations for the in service inspection, thorough examination and testing of cranes and lifting equipment. It also looks at how these tests should be carried out to improve occupational safety. The standard gives practical guidance on safety measures that should be taken into account when performing tests in the UK. BS 7121 2 doesnt apply to the mechanical testing of new cranes.
